From a young age, Delfina endured painful fibroids and hormonal imbalance that interfered considerably with her daily life. Seeking relief from crippling pain and associated symptoms, she faced two options: a hysterectomy or a hormonal IUD. Not ready to give up such a significant part of her womanhood, Delfina chose the hormonal IUD which enabled her to live pain free while providing welcome relief from mental health symptoms too. The IUD gave Delfina her life back in many ways, enabling her to meaningfully engage and live to the fullest every day.

Delfina’s story sheds important light on the impact of contraception to the health and well-being of Idahoans. We admire her courage and vulnerability to speak up and thank her for being a voice for so many Idaho women.
