Rupert designates this week as Contraception Week

After discussing the benefits of contraceptive awareness with a Boise-based nonprofit, Rupert Mayor Tammy Jones signed a proclamation that designates Sept. 20-26 as Rupert Contraception Week.

“I think it's important for me and for the community to be able to plan and build families the way families want to build them,” Jones told the Times-News.

The Idaho Contraceptive Education Network (ICEN), which is dedicated to expanding knowledge of contraceptives and access to healthcare for women, asked all cities in the state to make a proclamation. Rupert was the only one in the Magic Valley to work with the organization.
